About My Work
As an artist, I have experience in many mediums, including oil paint, acrylic paint, watercolors, printmaking, sculpture, and digital art. I specialize in oil painting and have been using the medium for a decade. While my work explores many themes and subject matters, I find myself drawn to painting landscapes and still life scenes that convey a sense of nostalgia or change over time. I received a bachelors degree in both studio art and art history at Salem College.
My Story
Growing up in St. Petersburg Florida, I was surrounded by an artistic community, beautiful tropical landscapes, and a family of artists, historians, and musicians. This upbringing had a profound effect on the development of my career choices and artistic style. I often focus my works on familiar imagery from my childhood. After graduating highschool, I chose to attend a small women's liberal arts school in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Here I discovered the depth of my appreciation for art history as well as painting, pursuing both as my majors. My education provided me with new tools for creating, new perspectives on art, and pushed me to produce more work that spoke about myself and my life. I currently still reside in Winston Salem where I continue to produce work from my home studio.
